Wicked Game: Interactive Novel

ABOUT

Wicked Game is a role-play centered game where you pick a narrative from 4 characters and play the story from their point of view. The game offers open world exploration and dialogue choices where a player’s choice influences the state of the game. Certain choices open up new places to the world, new characters or events that take place within the narrative, all choices lead to a specific ending at the very end. 

SUMMARY

Akane’s narrative: Akane Yeon was born in the middle of the Uprising, where the majority of humanity left alive banded together to fight off the secret mutant communities left in the world. People around the world hunt down to murder and capture these mutants. They call themselves investigators as mutants are tricky to find. Akane gets assigned to work as an investigator, a perfect cover. Some secrets come to light, a secret that comes in the form of an investigator named Vir. One secret leads him astray and his whole life changes. He lives a life as any other Mutant did, playing this wicked game of life.

Vir’s narrative: Vir Bosco is the youngest high ranked Investigator where everyone in the capital is watching him as the youngest one. He does his job well, missions, raids and even teaching students. He starts the year coaching a branch of new recruits, but one catches his eye as they have definitely met before. What is he doing here in the Capital?, as an investigator student no less. They have a past from a mission years back, but it runs deeper than he thinks. 

Olivia’s narrative: Olivia Reyes is a leader of a unit of the rebellion who run against the Capital and humans as a whole. She gets tasked to investigate some secret factories spread outside of the Capital and discovers a sinister plot that will change both human and mutant kind forever if it doesn’t get thwarted. Yet there also seems to be some unrest within the rebellion, the top leaders are completely anonymous. Is their cause really for the good of all of humanity? 

Cerul’s narrative: While out on a scavenger expedition she runs across a mysterious factory, out of curiosity she scopes it out with her team and is greeted with a gruesome sight. She reports back to the officials and is now tasked with finding out the truth behind these factories alongside her friend Olivia. Something sinister runs through this whole operation, but is it the rebellion or the Capital? 

PROTOTYPE

Since this is just a prototype (and having a deadline for a class to submit this) it's honestly quite a basic point and click interactive narrative game!  So far only one character's intro chapter can be played but I hope to visit this back at some point?? 

NOTE: character sprites are current concept art placeholders!! If I ever do visit this game I wish to add animated talking/expression sprites for everyone :D
